Are you looking forward to get your hands on the new iPhone v2? Will you be getting rid of the 1st iPhone to get this? Or you're a new user who want to get the new iPhone?

For me, I tried out the 1st generation iPhone from my mate and I thought it was okay. But then I only played with it for a short time so might have affected my thoughts with it.

I look forward to see the new iPhone v2 when it get released on 11th July.

Still no MMS, lack of decent camera, closed (albeit not as closed as it was) system, non replaceable battery. Looks flash but lack of substance compared to WM devices and, dare I say it, Symbian devices.

But, horses for courses, if it does what you want, it's certainly an improvement over Mk 1 iPhone.

That's very true about lack of MMS and non replaceable battery. The non replaceable battery is a "thing" for Apple as they do it with most of their products. But I don't understand about the MMS feature.

I guess they want the users to use the e-mail feature over GPRS/WiFi. But then MMS use the GPRS network for data anyway... (well as far as I can see!)

And as Apple don't control the network it's even stranger - why should they care if people use MMS or email?
I'm sure the iPhone II will sell in vast quantities but the contract with O2 is another thing that dissuades me.

The UI of the iPhone v1 was superb and the functionality great apart from a few stupid but key deficiences such as not being able to forward SMS. The new handset looks smaller and lighter too, but I can't say the addition of 3G or a new handset will butter my parsnips much.

Honestly, I was more excited about the S710, i600 and HTC S620!

I believe it's the same size. 3G and GPS are 2 great additions IMHO
Still not enough to make me interested but getting there.

Personally I am more anxious to get my hands on a slightly more 'serious' phone, namely the soon to be released BlackBerry Bold (9000).

Yeah. same with 1st edition of iPhone.

I would have bought the Iphone v2 yesterday if the o2 system had been working! There is always someone out there you can sell it to if you don't like it.

I think the contract is quite good £35pm for 600mins/500sms unlimited data and use of WIFI in hotspots.

I can't seem to find the FUP because on the Iphone tariffs it says "Subject to Excessive Use Policy"

Would like one as a toy. If its available PAYG at not too silly a price I might get one.
