iPhone 3G is now out this morning - Have you got yours?

What's your first impression for the new iPhone 3G owner?

And for the existing 1st iPhone user who got the iPhone 3G, is it any better than thw 1st one?

Nope. Queued at the O2 store from 7.30-9.30am on the premise that we were the next people in line who 'might' get one. Then O2's entire system went down and they started handing them out to people without credit checks, so then there was no chance of getting one.

I'll wait for a bit and see what happens.

I was first in line at 6am and did not get a phone until 10:30, with a sim that is not activated until tomorrow so I might still have to bring it back if that does not go through

My mate at work had the same trouble at brent cross this lunchtime.

How funny that the o2 sales network should go down at one of the most hyped launches?!!!!

They should have waited until 6.02 pm like last time!

Cheers

Phill

I have been using it since about 7pm and so far not sure what all the hype was about but I am just starting to explore it. Too many apps depend on the internet to operate, I need to get on the App Store and have a butchers to see what is available

Updated my iPod touch to 2.0 firmware and the apps are great - there are a few things that I'm getting that I've used before on WM and Palm - for instance it's great to have my eReader books back on a screen that's large enough to make reading fun again. Facebook app is good. I downloaded iPint, which is stupid but fun - a perfect show & tell pub app! I picked up a couple of games which are fun until our own Astraware ones are released in a few weeks. The only downside is that I only have the connectivity when I'm in range of wi-fi, and that's where the iPod touch lacks in comparison. I want to be able to do this stuff everywhere - and for that I need an iPhone!

least o2 were not alone with the iphone hick up , t-mobile in holland had the exact same problem , but the whole network crashed here , when 500 were activated at the same time laugh.gif have played with one but for a 3g telephone missing the front camera and mms is bad maybe version 3 will have the missing bits, but its probably better to get the iphone touch as your media player and a good 3g phone for calling wink.gif

Him indoors got his iPhone from CPW yesterday, having ordered it last Friday online. They apologised for the delay in getting it to him and have given him £20 credit in the Carphone online store to say sorry. Maybe he can buy a case or something!

Got mine at the Apple Store at the Trafford Centre last night. No waiting, plenty of stock. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the whole process, including me choosing a case, took less than 30 minutes. They even put the case on the phone for me and I walked out with a working iPhone 3G. Can't wait to get our games on it - not too much longer to wait on that!
